“So this is how I am supposed to die beast?”
Ulluk growled in defiance as the filthy creature approached him menacingly and widened its jaws in anticipation of the kill.
“Not today foul minion of C’thu!”
Ulluk lashed out suddenly and struck the disgusting fiend hard in the head sending it reeling in agony, the beast let out a high pitched wail as the burning pain shot through its body. Seeing the creature momentarily stunned was all the opportunity Ulluk needed and he quickly pounced upon the wounded servant of C’thu and proceeded to beat it relentlessly with his huge heavy fists, he hammered away wildly at the beast until only a bloody pulp of flesh remained.
“Ha! You see beast? You see why you must not come here to our beloved Eard?”
Ulluks rage burned red hot as he continued to taunt the corpse of his hated enemy as he assaulted it, pounding at the lifeless mess like a wild animal until practically nothing that resembled life remained, in a final symbolic gesture Ulluk tore its heart free and devoured it greedily, absolutely guaranteeing that the creature would breathe life no more.
Ulluk stood upright and made a sickly noise with his throat before spitting upon the ground where his opponent had lain, the crimson gore that coated his fists glistened under the light of the moon as he flexed his muscles and stretched his bulging arms towards the sky. Ulluk held his pose for a few moments before letting out a savage howl that rang out loud into the night. Upon hearing this cry of victory, the rest of the tribe quickly returned his call and joined in with the howling, the noise soon built up to an ominous cacophony that grew louder and louder as the Orcnar celebrated their victory over the C’thu trespassers.
Ulluk allowed the tribe a few moments to enjoy the win before signalling for silence and inviting his warriors to come closer to where the corpse lay.
“Come closely my kin; gather around so that I can show you the true face of your enemy! Behold the disgusting form that is the C’thu! These are the foul cretins that Mulungu has warned us of; we have done well to stop their advancement today!”
Some of the gathered Orcnar grinned heartily as Ulluk heaped his praises upon them and many amongst them bowed their heads reverently at the mention of the greatly adored and highly honoured Ealdmoder Mulungu.
“This victory shall be the first of many my Orcnar brothers but do not think that the battle is won yet, the road ahead is long and dark and although the C’thu seek to plague us at every corner, a greater threat broods ominously in the north, where the Vaettirean she-devil Huirach resides. She plots to bring a terrible darkness upon our people and will stop at nothing to fulfil the prophecies she has foreseen. The legions commanded by Huirach are the greatest threat we have faced in this new dawn of Relicia but we will survive the onslaught! Great Mulungu is certain of it!”
Ulluk paused and allowed his words to sink in while he scanned the assembled Orcnar, the Docga still yelped incessantly and Uk the Eotan made an irritating whooping sound with a blank expression etched foolishly onto his face but fortunately Ulluk could still clearly see that his message was being understood by at least some members of the tribe, the brightest of which nodded or waved in his direction to signify their understanding and approval. After a short while Ulluk was satisfied that the majority understood the plan, he thought it a pity he had been unable to communicate it to the likes of Uk but in all truth Uks ignorance was unimportant in the grand scheme of things, his place in the tribe was justified by his ability to tear down opponents twice his size, not his ability to think or understand. Ulluk reached down and grasped the skull of the C’thu beast and held it aloft.
“Be strong my Orcnar kin! For the time will soon come where we must all fight for our survival, when that time comes we shall be ready and waiting to strike at the heart of our foe! Our journey into the cold north shall continue when the sun breaks but for now let us feast on the bones of the wretched C’thu!”
Ulluk tossed the skull to Uk who happily obliged the chief, swiftly crushing it between his teeth into manageable pieces that he could chew on more easily. The gathered circle then quickly disbanded as the assembled Orcnar tore at the scattered remains of their enemies and indulged in their grisly feast while Ulluk himself departed quietly and made his way to the caves of the Ealdmoder, hoping to hear more secrets from the whisperings of the ancient Mulungu.
