Every once in a while, in the kingdom of Britana, the King puts aside an afternoon to hear the troubles of his people. Anyone can petition for an audience with the King but they do so at their own peril, he is an impatient man and his mood varies drastically from day to day. The majority of folk who stand before the King will have their pleas rejected but there are a select few who can win favour with the King if their proposals are deemed beneficial to the kingdom.
King Jorje made his way to the throne and sat back before rubbing his hands together impatiently.
“Simmons, would you send the first one through please?”
He motioned the Arcanum advisor towards the doorway of the throne room. Simmons twisted the handle and slowly eased the creaky door open.
“Right then! Who is in need of the King’s wisdom?”
King Jorje squinted to see a skinny bodied, ashen faced Puppeteer appear in the doorway.
“Is that you Wyliams?”
The King went blood red with anger as he roared across the room. Wyliams did not reply but Simmons nodded frantically.
“Get out! You bloody idiot! I have already told you once! Don’t push me or I’ll have your guts for garters, you wretched little cretin!”
Wyliams quickly spun around and disappeared and at once and a Trooper carrying a box appeared in his place. Jorje sighed.
“This had better be good.”
The Trooper trotted towards the King, his pegs clip clopping on the floor as he did so. He approached the throne and bowed before the King before opening his box and presenting him with the individual contents.
The King squinted to see the Trooper hands him the tiny lead figurines, he motioned Simmons quietly to hand him his spectacles and gasped as the miniatures came into focus.
“Oh my word!”
It was suddenly clear to the King that the figures he held in his hands were perfect representations of his own beloved Britanans and he was amazed at how accurate they were. He arose from his throne with excitement and delved into the box himself, he soon noticed there were also perfectly formed miniatures of his dreaded enemies the Orcnar and Vaettir and a strange idea suddenly dawned on him.
“Oh yes! This is truly brilliant!”
He removed a booklet from the box and hastily thumbed through the pages.
“Oh I see, I see.”
The King pored over the document at some length, while the Trooper produced a mock up board of the southlands and began arranging the strange metal miniatures upon it. He then produced a bag of dice and began lazily rolling them upon the table. The King looked up from the booklet at the Trooper.
“Show me.”
The Trooper happily obliged the King and he produced a ruler from his pocket and began moving the models around the board and rolling the dice as he went. He moved back and forth between the left and right side of the table, occasionally removing a model here and there, as he demonstrated the game.
“This is brilliant! Absolutely amazing fun too! This will make a perfect game to train my officers on the finer details of war! Simmons, dismiss the remaining beggars for the day will you and summon me three Trooper Platoons! This clever little chap has given me a brilliant and cunning plan! This, Simmons is our new secret weapon!”
The Trooper bowed again gratefully. The King crouched and put a friendly arm around the Trooper.
“Well done my lad! Such inspiration you bring to me. From this day forth you are no longer a Trooper of the Britanan army! No! You have proved yourself worthy of a higher purpose and rewarded you shall be! You shall be my first Demo Trooper! Welcome to the newly founded Demo Corps!”
The Kings Own Demo Corps
You are fresh out of the loom factories and ready to prove to King Jorje that you are worth his admiration. What better way to earn it than to join the Kings Own Demo Corps?
It’s not an easy task, no indeed. It requires determination, commitment and a lot of hard work to earn those buttons. But, by golly, it’s worth it.
So, are you ready to join the Corps and become a ‘Demo Trooper’?
What’s the Kings Own Demo Corps
The Kings Own Demo Corps is the official Tor Gaming demo and promotion program that allows the players to get involved in the games we produce by demoing and promoting them at their local stores, shows and clubs.
This is not a thankless task though, oh no. for each event the Demo Trooper runs, they earn buttons. The number of buttons you earn is dependant on the type of event, the period of time it takes and/or the number of participants involved.
For example, you will earn 4 buttons per hour that you demo Relics.
At this time, these buttons can then be used to buy more Relics miniatures. But in the near future, you will be able to spend your hard earned buttons on all sorts of lovely things like limited edition miniatures, t-shirts, mugs and what ever else we can think of.
