Relics The Yohga
Although the largest, King Jorges puppet army is not the only one in Relicia. In fact, had the Britanans not colonised the Indan regions prior to the fall, he would not have had the requisite knowledge to build his army
In the jungles of Indan lived an indigenous people whose control of the Maaj rivalled that of Orcnar Shamans, but whereas the Orcnar focused on enriching life, the Yohga were only concerned with death. In the shadows cast by tangled leaves and vines, the Naedre wove their lies and encouraged the spells of the Yohga Shamans until their labours bore tainted fruit and the Yohga attained a kind of immortality, imbuing the lifeless with their own essence.
Taking the forms of Tygars, Bayrs and Stryktrs they started to terrorise the local populace until they were as revered and despised as the departed Gods. It was a short-lived pleasure though. Soon, as the laughing Naedre abandoned them and disappeared underground once more, the Yohga realised their folly; with their vaulted power they could not die, but neither could they live. They were the last of their race no more would ever be born. At one extreme the Yohga went insane, cutting swathes through the local flora and fauna, at the other they became totally introspective, ceasing to move as they succumbed to contemplation
Years later, as the humans entered the jungles and laid claim to the lands, they heard tales of the Yohga but dismissed them as mere superstition until they experienced one of the Kli first-hand. One of the insane hurricanes of destruction tore through the army, a company of men falling to its blades before it was felled by massed musket-fire. Torn and twisted, the flesh still quivered as the men hesitantly inspected the corpse, horrified to find its eyes still flickered with hatred and the blade-hands still clawed for them.
A Master of the Royal Arcanum accompanying the Army cast augers and realised the power of the Maaj held within the Kli and the evident potential in such a weapon. The Kli was carefully packed and shipped back to the Royal Arcanum in Unglandan for further analysis and the focus of the invading party switched from claiming territory to finding more of the Yohga creatures. Before long the Royal Arcanum had divulged the secrets of the Yohga Maaj but at the time King Jorje forbade its use as it was a fate to horrible to comprehend for a human (how quickly things change). He did however encourage experimentation with the Yohga to discover their limitations and potential and the Nuem were a splendid focus group for such a test
After the Sundering the Yohga found themselves free once more, their capturers falling dead around them as the Great Spell took effect but more than that, they too were affected by the Maaj. They found themselves no longer bound to their adopted forms and could now act as puppet masters to their former prisons whilst retaining their incorporeal forms.
Designer notes: The imagery of the Yohga should reflect Hinduism and the Jungle Book, but Relicised

Edit: I'm reworking it at the moment as I a) realised there are only 12 profiles instead of 13 and b) the costings are well off.
