Combat system

Gav like the fact that you have now changed the system to doubles and trebles, thats great. So a unit of Britanan Troopers of 10 could throw 30 dice to see if they hit. Do you throw the whole lot at once and then choose doubles ad trebles or are you rolling for each figure individually ?
Cheers

Steve

What..... how did you get 30 dice? It's a element based game, not a figure based game.

Attacking.
Roll a number of D6 equal to the attacking units current combat stat and look for doubles and
triples!

I would never write a game that uses that many dice as I hate (and I mean seriously hate!) bucket of dice games.

And how much he hates the buckets cannot be explained with such small words....

Back to the point.  Troopers have 3 dice per unit.  Yes this means a hit is unlikely the idea will be to take an upgrade that may give them the ability to add another dice, bump a dice, re-roll a dice etc... thse will be added when I presume they're added, tested, liked, licked and confirmed.

Looking forward to these rules and seeing if I can kill anything with my Brits!

Options are already in the doc Colin. For the Troopers:

Quote
Options:
You may choose any of the following for this unit:
 Add a CSM to the unit for 1 point. Increase units Morale to 5+
 Add a Marksman to the unit for 2 point. Increase units Ranged stat to 15/4
 Add a Colour Party to the unit for 1 point. Remove the Unreliable USR from this unit.

For the Grenadiers:

Options:
You may choose any of the following for this unit:
 Add a Marksman to the unit for 2 point. Increase units Ranged stat to 15/5

To list just two.

Hi Gavin,

Good stuff.  Spelling mistake on '2 point' but not important but worth correcting now probably so people can't point them out later.

Rules are looking good.  For me, I like quick, fast and deadly.  Poor Troopers need to use their options to make them useful, but they are cheap in points and you can mass field/brigade them to allow larger numbers of rolls etc, all good choices.
