Two small Relics War Armies being prepared

Oh, looky looky, two small Relics War armies (Britanan on left, Orcnar on right - just in-case you can't make them out) being built...... The base sizes have changed slightly from those in the public rules doc....



 The Orcnar army is missing the models for the two unmann units at the back and the Grymann unit between the Eotans and the Docgas.

How many more units do you envisage being in standard sized armies?

At this time, I should think this again with a second commander would be the 'norm'. So, 8 to 10 units plus 2 commanders.

But that may change as we move forward with the rules.

It's all still very much up in the air at the moment, but I don't' see it being any more models than a game of Warhammer.

All the units will be available as a single purchase items including the movement tray/base and will be cheaper then buying them in  individual blisters.

It entirely possible I am over estimating the number of units and we may pull it in a little so this is probably 2/3 of an army and not half an army. Of course, it could be bigger if you took all Troopers, or smaller if you took all Highlanders.

Just in case you hadn't clicked, that pic has TWO armies in it, a Britanan and a Orcnar. 1 commander and 5 units each.

Having the units available in a single purchase would be quite nice for Relics as well as I usually work off max units when list building rather than min ones.

Totally. It's something I planned for War from the outset. You buy a 'box' and it is a complete unit. We can do this because units don't have varying sizes, so a trooper unit is 9 troopers, one CSM and a company colour party, so in the Trooper Unit ox, you will get that and the base.

No need to worry about needing to get anything else for that unit, you have what you need.

Not yet, the rules are still early on so unit sizes may change still. So, unit packs aren't on the cards until the rules are a lot more stable.

How do we get them more stable? Well, the point of putting them out there is for people to play and feedback. The more feedback we get, the faster we can stabilise the rules.
