The Garrison

We task each Tower Guard with promoting the Tor Gaming games and miniatures in their area. They do this by building interest and excitement in the local player base and retail outlets.

Their first job is collating a list of all clubs, retailers and shows in their territoty. Once that’s done, they promote our ranges at these locations by:

• Arranging demos and tournaments
• Showing people our cool models
• Offering advice on building our models – all the Tower Guards own their own armies so know the ‘ins and outs’ of the range!

Tower Guards are not Tor Gaming staff and are not running events to generate sales. As such, they are not responsible for sales at an event, their purpose is to promote the ranges at events and build interest. It’s up to retailers to turn that interest into sales!

• Tower Guards also participate in testing new profiles and rules that Tor Gaming are working on. This means they help to shape the our games but also gives them the knowledge to better promote the game as they know what is coming.

Tower Guards are responsible for organising and running all sorts of events in their local area including:

• Demo days – demos for any of our game systems
• Tournaments – one and two day tournament events
• Slow grow campaigns – perfect way to build a new force for one of our systems!
• Anything else the Tower Guard can think of!

They do these at their local retailers, clubs or gaming shows.

Joining the Tower Garrison is not a complex process. In the first instance, interested parties should drop us an email at [email protected] with the following details:

• Name
• Address
• Counties you can cover
• Forces you currently own that are painted and demo fit – You will need at least two to start but will need to expand and cover all.

We will then get back in contact with you about your application.

Each Guard has a territory to demo and promote in. This is generally the county in which you live but you can cover more counties if you want too. We aim to keep the number of Guards in a territory to four or five maximum to ensure it’s not over crowded.

We expect Guards in a single territory to work together on events when required.

Guards are expected to participate in two out of the following three activities. They can, if they wish, do all three but they must be willing to do at least two.

• Organise and run events in their territory. The number and frequency of these events is dependent on the type of event. A large tournament is more demanding than a day of demoing in a store so counts for more activity. There is no hard and fast ruling on this at the moment. This is one of the most important activities so we would prefer all Guards to do this activity as one of their two minimum
• Take part in the testing and feedback of our systems. All Guards have access to the testing section of our forum. They can see what is coming up as we believe they need to know this to better promote the game. We woudl ove for them to take part in this by testing the stuff we are developing and letting us know thier results.
• Help promote our ranges by use of their blog, Facebook page, Twitter account and spreading allt he latest news and activity on wargames forums.

Ah, the age old question! All Tower Guards that are active will receive the following:

• A nice discount off all the ranges produced by Tor Gaming
• Early access to new releases
• A 200 point Relics army of your choice for the first store that stocks our ranges after your promotion there.

If you want to arrange demos/events at your club, store or show then you can start the ball rolling by contacting us on [email protected]. We will then pass on your details to our Tower Guards and if any are available, they will contact you to make arrangements.

It’s possible that there will not be any available due to your area not having a Garrison yet or they are already booked for the date you require. Please understand they have personal lifes too.
